STORY BEHIND THE PIECE
Nefertari was an Egyptian queen, the first of the Great Royal Wives of Ramesses the Great and the one he loved the most. Her name means ‘beautiful companion’. Ramesses II infatuation with her is clearly reflected in the beauty, magnificence and elegance of her tomb, which remains the most lavishly decorated of all in the Valley of the Queens.
